Family Law

Mediation and Collaborative Divorce

Mediation

Divorce mediation is a process in which the mediator attempts to help the Husband and Wife reach an agreement on issues of custody, visitation support and asset and debt division. The mediator does not represent either party and does not make any binding decisions but has extensive experience in the area of family law and therefore can effectively assist the parties in resolving the issues of the dissolution through family mediation. I, perform mediation services, however, should the parties not agree on an issue the parties would both need to consult other attorney's to litigate the matter in court.

Collaborative Divorce

In a collaborative divorce each party is represented by their own attorney's however, information is freely shared, experts are utilized and the parties reach an agreement without the necessity of litigation.
